原文：
昔有女子，名嫦娥，貌美如花，才情出众。乃帝俊之妃，后羿之妻也。帝俊，天帝也；后羿，射日英雄也。嫦娥***宁静，喜观月之皎洁，常于月下吟咏。一日，后羿得西王母赐之不死之药，欲与嫦娥共度长生之世。嫦娥恐药成仙后，与后羿分离，遂吞之。药力发作，嫦娥飘然升天，化为一道白光，直奔月宫而去。
月宫之中，嫦娥居广寒宫，宫中玉兔捣药，吴刚伐桂，仙乐飘飘。嫦娥思念后羿，泪如雨下，月宫之水，皆因嫦娥之泪而成。后羿得知嫦娥奔月，悲痛欲绝，遂命人铸成月宫之影，以寄相思之情。自此，人间每逢中秋之夜，家家户户皆仰望明月，寄托对远方亲人的思念。

In ancient times, there was a woman named Chang'e, whose beauty was as radiant as flowers and whose talents were exceptional. She was the wife of Emperor Yu, the celestial emperor, and the consort of Hou Yi, the hero who shot down the suns. Chang'e loved tranquility and often recited poems under the moonlight. One day, Hou Yi received the elixir of immortality from the Queen Mother of the West, hoping to share it with Chang'e to spend an eternal life together. Fearing that after becoming an immortal, she would be separated from Hou Yi, Chang'e swallowed the elixir. As the elixir took effect, Chang'e floated up into the sky, transforming into a white light, and directly flew to the Moon Palace.
In the Moon Palace, Chang'e lived in the Palace of Cold Moon. In the palace, the jade rabbit ground the medicine, Wu Gang chopped the ginkgo trees, and the celestial music floated around. Missing Hou Yi, Chang'e shed tears like rain, and the water in the Moon Palace was all turned into tears. When Hou Yi learned that Chang'e had flown to the Moon, he was heartbroken and ordered people to cast the shadow of the Moon Palace to express his longing. From then on, every Mid-Autumn Festival night, families and households all over the world look up at the bright moon, expressing their longing for their distant loved ones.
